Lyrics

From the steps of the door down to the gate by the car
They were, packed and headed for the coast with their guitars
To take the Cabot Trail as the leaves turned green to red
And they'd, bang on their maple tops until their fingers bled

They were young and they were driven to feel
They lived for living for them living was real
Lay by the old streams you lounged in life
With these,
Reflections in the water shaping forms of light

As the winter came to town
It seemed to hold the city
And everyone just laid in bed
But you were young and you were raw
You saw the beauty in it all
And 5 a.m would drag you up into the street

Many times I go back to that stream in my mind
A dream I captured in the stillness there I'd find
As the spirit of the ocean made it's call to wed
So would I pray with every tear I've shed
May the rains I walk through bring peace to your heart
The ocean surrounds you to tear you apart
And if the clouds come and darken your day
Turn your head to the sky and strongly say

As the winter came to town
It seemed to hold this city down
But everyone rose from their beds
A tendril of steam rose above the brim
AS she took the morning in
Dawning of her life well-lead

Many times I go back to that stream in my mind
A dream I captured in the stillness there I'd find
As the spirit of the ocean made it's call to wed
So would I pray with every tear I've shed

May the rise of dawn bring a golden shade
The end of suffering and a loving age
Euphoria for the Mother, the heart of my heart
Serene surrender in the light I'll depart.
